There is no single "magic number". Each university sets its own approach, and thresholds move every year with the applicant pool.
How to set your target
- Look up the official UCAT ANZ score statistics (deciles) for the latest year.
- Check each university's admissions guide — some use hard cut-offs, others weight UCAT with ATAR/GPA and interview.
- Aim comfortably above the level your target schools have used recently, to allow for yearly change.
Don't forget SJT
Situational Judgement is reported separately and some schools use it as its own filter or tie-breaker. Prepare it properly — it is very trainable.
