We collect information you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, and password when you create an account. We also collect usage data such as practice session results, question responses, flashcard progress, time spent on the platform, and any questions or images you upload to be scanned and explained. We may also collect limited technical information (such as device, browser, and log data) necessary to operate, secure, and improve the service.
We use the information we collect to provide and improve our services, personalise your learning experience, track your exam preparation progress across NEET and UCAT, send you relevant updates and communications, process payments, maintain the security and integrity of the platform, comply with our legal obligations, and respond to your support requests.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted third-party cloud infrastructure provider. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Your practice data and session history are retained for as long as your account is active and thereafter only as required for our legitimate business or legal purposes. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify affected users and any relevant authority as soon as reasonably practicable.
AstraScholar uses AI services including Anthropic's Claude to generate questions, create study stories, and provide tutoring. Your messages, uploaded questions, and responses may be processed by these services to generate replies. We do not use your personal data to train third-party AI models, and we contract with our AI providers on terms consistent with this Policy. Please remember that AI-generated content can contain errors and should be double-checked against authoritative sources. You should not submit sensitive personal information, or information you are not authorised to share, through the AI features.
Some of our service providers (including our AI providers) may store or process information on servers located outside Australia. Where we disclose personal information to overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled in a manner consistent with this Policy and applicable law. By using the AI-powered features, you acknowledge and consent to this cross-border processing.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share anonymised, aggregated data that does not identify you for research or analytics purposes. We only share identifiable data with third-party service providers necessary to operate our platform — such as our hosting, payment, email, and AI providers — and where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

The platform is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age without appropriate consent. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information without such consent, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
AstraScholar is operated from Australia. If you access the platform from India or another jurisdiction, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your local laws.
