Courses that use UCAT ANZ

  • Bachelor of Medical Studies / Doctor of Medicine

How UNSW uses your UCAT ANZ score

  1. Interviews are offered on your selection rank (ATAR plus adjustment factors) and UCAT ANZ overall score combined.
  2. You must reach at least the 50th percentile in UCAT ANZ to be considered for interview.
  3. The Situational Judgement score is not used.
  4. Offers are ranked on all three: academic rank, UCAT ANZ and interview. A high score in one area does not make up for a low score in another.

Good to know

  • Only UCAT ANZ results from the year before entry count (2026 results for 2027 entry).
  • Domestic applicants can gain up to 10 points from adjustment factor schemes.

What UCAT ANZ score should you aim for?

Universities do not set a single pass mark: they rank applicants against each other, so the score you need depends on the year and on how strong the other applicants are. For a competitive course, aiming for the top 10–20% of candidates is a sensible target.

In 2025, the top 20% of UCAT ANZ candidates scored about 2190 or more out of 2700, and the top 10% about 2310 or more. Use the score calculator to see where your practice scores sit.

Before you apply

  • Read the official admissions page: UNSW Sydney — entry requirements.
  • Check the prerequisite subjects and the minimum ATAR (or equivalent) for your year of entry.
  • Note every deadline: UCAT ANZ registration, the university or admissions-centre application, and any separate interview booking.
  • Look for rural, Indigenous and other special entry pathways that may apply to you.
ℹ️ Entry rules change each year. Always confirm the details on UNSW Sydney's website and the official UCAT ANZ website before you apply.
